The House of Gucci, more commonly referred to as Gucci, has been producing high fashion and leather goods for over 90 years. Guccio Gucci opened his first store in Florence, Italy in 1921 selling fine leather goods with classical stylings. With the help of his three sons, Gucci’s reputation grew and the company became an international success.  In the 1950’s Gucci stores had already expanded into Milan, Rome and New York due to the brands high-quality craftsmanship and luxurious products.
Word War 2 forced Gucci to experiment with other materials due to leather shortages. This was the beginning of Gucci’s awe-inspiring collection of canvas totes and silk handbags. By the 1960’s celebrities were posing in Gucci clothing and accessories and the brand had become an international status symbol that fashionista’s just had to have.

Today, Gucci is owned by the french company PPR and remains one of the most sought after brands by discerning men and woman seeking high-fashion Italian style. Creative director, Frida Giannini has been designing collections that are influencing fashion trends season after season. Gucci’s distinctive glamour has made it  one of the most frequently copied brands in fashion and the brand continues to create fashion-forward collections that are constantly inspiring designers all around the world.
